The Origin of Kossivi's HOPE
Kossivi's HOPE has its origin in a personal life story – not as an end in itself, but as a starting point for responsibility and hope. The founder of Kossivi's HOPE was born in the West African country of Togo under difficult social conditions. Even before his birth, life was marked by insecurity, violence, and the separation of his parents. The birth took place under conditions where hope was not a given. The beginning of life was marked by insecurity, poverty, and a lack of stability. Hope was not a natural part of reality at that time, but something that first had to grow. Growing up in limited family structures and without the simultaneous presence of both parents showed early on how crucial stability, reliability, and a protective environment are for a child's development. This early phase of life created a deep understanding of what it means to grow up without secure structures – an experience that many children still share today. With the later path in Germany, new perspectives opened up through education, stability, and reliable structures. School, high school diploma, as well as a bachelor's and master's degree and today's professional path as a Real Estate Investment Manager became possible. The driving force of this project is the founder's faith in God – not as exclusion, but as a foundation. From this grew the conviction: hope that was received is not a possession, but a mission. Kossivi's HOPE sees itself as passing on this hope – to children whose beginning of life is also marked by insecurity, regardless of origin or faith.
The Foundation of Kossivi's HOPE
“HOPE” stands for hope, perspective, faith, and future. “Kossivi” stands for the origin of this vision. The name comes from the Ewe language in Togo and means “the little Sunday boy.” It describes a very small child at birth – a beginning without particular securities. The personal story is not the goal of the project, but its starting point – as a reminder that hope can be passed on.
HOPE stands for hope in three supporting pillars:
Hope as Faith
The foundation of this project is a faith that understands hope not as a wish, but as confidence. Inspired by Hebrews 11:1, faith means having trust – even where the path is not yet fully visible. It is not material resources alone that carry this project, but the conviction that responsible action in trust can open new doors.
Hope for the Children
Every child carries unique potential within. Kossivi’s HOPE aims to create a framework in which this potential can grow despite poverty, trauma, or insecure living conditions. The goal is to provide children with stability, dignity, and prospects so they can lead self-determined and fulfilling lives.
Hope for the Project
Great endeavors do not arise without challenges. The hope of this project lies in the firm conviction that a vision can become concrete reality – step by step, together with people who take responsibility and believe in sustainable development.
